Savrola hosts a Spooky Story Contest this month
Savrola is currently hosting its first annual scary story contest. The deadline to turn in a story is Friday, Oct. 21 in room C209.
“It’s fun to express yourself in different ways, and Halloween is a day where you can do that in anyway you like,” senior Kendall Lazarin said. “You don’t have to write about monsters, mass murderers, or clowns, so it’s really up to you on what you want to write about.”
Interested students are to write about their interpretation of scary without a specific prompt in under 500 words. The three winners will be announced in the October issue of The Pride that comes out on Friday, Oct. 28.
“It gives people an opportunity to come up with creative ideas that have to do with Halloween,” Savrola’s Editor-in-chief Courtney Triplett said. “Everything is anonymous; we take the names off everything, we all read through it, it goes through the whole staff, and we decide which ones are our favorites.”
Savrola leaders are excited to read what comes through their door.
“I hope we get to see a large variety of scary stories with different elements like satire or comedy,” Lazarin said. By Farahbi Farad
