Are you a bird lover? A bird supporter? Or someone who just likes birds? Well on January 5 you can celebrate National Bird Day.
National Bird Day came into existence in 2002 when Born Free USA, a pro-animal organization, joined forces with the Avian Welfare Coalition.
Some of the things you can do to show your awareness on National Bird Day are bird watching, studying birds, educating others on facts about birds, and even adopting birds. Even small DIY projects, such as setting up bird feeders in your front or backyard to attract birds and give them sanctuary are well received. If you do not have that much free time, you can always donate to a bird sanctuary dedicated to helping endangered birds.
National Bird Day may seem like another random national holiday, but this one is so much more. It’s a day dedicated to the noble cause of supporting species that need to be protected. Even if you are not a fan of birds, helping out nature is never the wrong thing to do. Happy National Bird Day!
