Churchill High School has many stories to tell, however, the best ones are about our accomplished students.
Senior Gavin Gray is a student heavily involved in organizations that aim to test students’ programming abilities.
“I am in the Computer Science UIL Club,” said Gray. “I also take 2 classes for computer science.”
However, this interest and talent for programming and computer science runs in the Gray family. Gavin, his mother, Emily Gray, and his brother all share a passion for programming. Mrs. Gray works in the field while Gavin’s brother attends college with a focus on programming.
“I have many hobbies,” said Gray. “I actually enjoy playing video games such as Tarkov, Apex, and New World; and I also enjoy reading, some of my favorites are the Dune Series and the novel The Way of Kings.”
Seniors tend to struggle with many mixed emotions; regardless, sometimes all you need is a school you feel comfortable in and the right people surrounding you.
“I like how friendly the students and staff are here,” said Gray. “I’ve only had good experiences with everyone here and I find it bittersweet how this is my last year.”
For many students, the end of senior year is approaching. The topic that prevails among seniors is the tentative future plans after graduation. To the majority, going to college is a must.
“Right now, I am thinking of becoming a computer programmer and opening a business in the future,” said Gray. “My family is very knowledgeable in the subject so it should be an easy fit.”
